We understand that an unexpected pregnancy may bring lots of questions, fears, and unknowns into your future. You deserve a place to process all of these while getting relevant information for your circumstances.
Pregnancy Testing
If you are experiencing any common pregnancy symptoms or have had unprotected sex, you should come in for a pregnancy test. A pregnancy test is the best way to determine whether or not you are actually pregnant. Some early pregnancy signs to look for are:
- Missed Period
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Fatigue
- Frequent Urination
- Breast Tenderness
- Mood Swings
- Bloating
- Light Spotting
Our free pregnancy testing is simple, fast, and reliable. Our tests are designed to detect the pregnancy hormone hCG in your urine, which is a clear indicator of pregnancy. Knowing your status early can open up choices and give you time to consider your next steps carefully.
Beyond just the practical aspect, taking a pregnancy test can also be an emotional experience. It’s perfectly normal to feel a mix of emotions, whether it’s excitement, fear, or confusion. Our compassionate staff is here to provide support and answer any questions you may have regarding your pregnancy.
When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test?
Generally, it’s recommended to take a pregnancy test at least one week after a missed period for the most accurate results. Taking it too early might lead to a false negative if your body hasn’t produced enough of the pregnancy hormone hCG yet.
If you get a negative result but still suspect you might be pregnant, it’s advisable to retest in a few days or a week, or schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider. When you schedule a pregnancy testing appointment with Comfort Care we will ask you about your last menstrual period. Using that information, together we will come up with the best time for you to make your appointment.
If I am Under 18 Can I Still Make a Pregnancy Testing Appointment?
Yes, if you are under 18, you can still make a pregnancy testing appointment with ComfortCare. We provide confidential services to all individuals, regardless of age, and our priority is to offer support and accurate information in a safe and non-judgmental environment. You do not need parental consent to receive pregnancy testing or counseling at our clinic. However, if you wish to bring a parent, friend or partner with you to your appointment, you are more than welcome to do so.
Why Are Ultrasounds Important?
While a pregnancy test confirms you’re pregnant, an ultrasound tells you more about the pregnancy itself. This includes essential information like the gestational age and location of the pregnancy.
Ultrasounds use sound waves to create images of your baby in the womb. This non-invasive procedure is crucial for understanding the health and development of the pregnancy. Our limited OB ultrasound can detect the heartbeat and verify if there is more than one fetus. This information is invaluable as you consider your pregnancy options.
Considering Abortion?
If you’re contemplating abortion, you might wonder if an ultrasound is necessary. The answer is yes, and here’s why:
- Confirm Pregnancy Details: An ultrasound gives a clear picture of the pregnancy, including its location and how far along you are. This information is crucial for understanding your options and the abortion methods available to you.
- Assess Health Conditions: Ultrasounds can detect any anomalies or complications that might influence your decision. It ensures that your health is prioritized in whichever choice you make.
- Empowerment Through Information: Knowledge is power. Having a complete understanding of your pregnancy enables you to make informed decisions about your body and future.
Even if you’re considering abortion, an ultrasound provides vital information that can guide your decision-making process. At our clinic, we respect your autonomy and are here to provide the necessary support and information.
